Hand painted kitchens require great skill and experience in order to achieve high-quality finishes. We were asked to hand paint this kitchen in Wilmslow, Cheshire. There are many elements to the project that allow us to offer superior finishes for each client.
On arrival, all doors and drawer fronts were removed. A key to this is ensuring that each and every front is replaced to the exact position where it came from. Each surface was then fully cleaned and de-greased in preparation for painting. Handles and hinges should be removed prior to sanding.
When sanding drawers and door fronts it is important that you are careful. If you use a grit that is too course you will end up leaving pattern throughout the grain. This would then show when the surface is painted and would not look good.
Once the surfaces are sanded, a high grip primer is applied to all surfaces. De-nib and tac clothes are used in between each coat of paint. The number of coats needed is not always the same. It is important that you build up the coats appropriately and leave them to dry. We have specialist storage and equipment to ensure that each surface dries without touching anything. Once this process is completed, the kitchen is then re-assembled and fully cleaned.
This kitchen was completely transformed. Prior to starting the hand painted kitchen, we discussed different options with our client. We are able to offer this process off-site. This means that we will come and dismantle everything and take the drawers and door fronts away to our workshop. All preparatory work is completed on-site and the remaining work in our workshop.
